One Kind Word

Key Stage 2 Anti-bullying Workshop

About This Workshop

This workshop is designed for children in KS2.  Our One Kind Word workshop helps children recognise the power of language and how we can use words to support and help others.

According to The Bullying Shield 89% of children who claimed to have been bullied in the last 12 months (2018) said that they had been verbally bullied in some form or another. In the study, this included being called names, sworn at, insulted, ignored or having rumours spread about them.

This reminds us of the power that our words can have on others. In our One Kind Word workshop we help your pupils navigate language and turn verbal bullying on it’s head. We encourage them to think about how just one kind word to others can be the start of something positive. Kind words can be infectious and our drama role-play allows your children the space to use kind words to get positive outcomes for all.

By the end of the One Kind Word workshop your pupils will understand what verbal bullying is and how to tackle bullying by using language in a positive way.
