A range of anti-bullying workshops for Key Stage 2

How it Works

We have a range of anti-bullying workshops for Key Stage 2. You can focus on one theme or select from different themes for different year groups. Each workshop is designed to be delivered to a class group (maximum 30 pupils). Each workshop lasts around 50 minutes.

In advance of our visit we will send you a pre-workshop exercise to use with your class to get your class thinking about friendship.

Part One - Group Discussion

The workshop starts with our facilitator leading a brief discussion about bullying and agreeing on a definition of what bullying is (and isn’t).  We take our definition from the Anti-Bullying Alliance of which we are core members.

Part Two - Reporting

The second part of this workshop involves our facilitator teaching your class some tools and techniques to tackle bullying if it happens to them or their friends. If your school has any specific reporting mechanisms we can include your reporting process in this part of the workshop.

Part Three - Role Play

The third section of this workshop is focused on all the children in your class taking part in drama role-play. Our facilitators are performing arts trained with teaching experience. They will split the class into groups of 5-6 and present each group with a role-play exercise based on the anti-bullying topic chosen. Every child in the class will take part. There is no pressure to deliver a big performance and our facilitators are used to working with both shy and confident children. Each group will present a scene from the role-play. The story in the role-play is designed to re-enforce the messages from the group discussion about bullying and to try out – in a safe environment – the tools and techniques presented by our facilitator to tackle bullying if it happens.

Wrapping Up

After the workshop our facilitator will give you access to post workshop lesson plans that you can use in your own time with your class to further develop the topics discussed as part of the workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our workshops are designed to get everyone involved.  All pupils and staff will take part in the workshop so that by the end of the process everyone should feel confident that they know what bullying is and have acted out, in a safe environment, effective strategies for dealing with bullying if it occurs.

Each workshop begins with a discussion about bullying in general terms and to explore all of the different types of bullying.  This discussion is followed up with drama role-plays.  Pupils and staff work in small groups with our facilitator to ensure that everyone takes part.

We specialise in delivering workshops to primary schools.  Some of our workshops are designed specifically for either KS1 or KS2.  Most of our workshops are adaptable for any year group in a primary school setting. 

Outside of November*, a full day package that allows for 5 workshops is £399.   This covers one facilitator working with groups of up to 30 pupils at a time.

*5 Workshops during November are £499.

The workshop facilitator will provide your school a comprehensive resource pack of further class work to stay focused on tackling bullying after the workshop.

We have successfully delivered anti-bullying workshops to thousands of children and their teachers.  We have developed effective strategies for helping pupils and teachers tackle bullying in all its forms.  We specialise in delivering workshops to primary schools, however most of our workshops are adaptable to any year group.

We are associate members of the anti-bullying alliance.  Membership of this growing network of specialist practitioners ensures that we stay informed on the key issues around bullying that effect schools and allows us to contribute to best practice in tackling bullying.

We also operate a sister company – Spotlights Theatre School.  Our theatre school delivers professional training to thousands of young people in drama, dance and singing.  We have used our experience in teaching performing arts to develop a range of workshops to help schools tackle bullying in a fun and creative way.
